WHAT TO EXPECT FROM AUDITIONS
The first day of auditions is for vocals. Regardless of the time slot you sign up for, ALL auditioning students should be in the Drama room by 3:05pm for announcements. You will then wait outside until your specific audition time.
Be prepared with one song from the packet (see music cuts below). Mr. McCormick will be playing piano accompaniment for all students. When you come into the room, you should check in with Mr. McCormick and let him know which song you will be singing. You will then go to your mark, introduce yourself (name, grade and drama class, if applicable) and state which song you will be singing.
The second day of auditions will be for dance. All students should be in the Auditorium by 3:05pm. The choreographer will teach everyone a short dance sequence, which will then be performed in small groups. After the initial audition, some students will be asked to stay for an additional advanced dance sequence.
Wear appropriate comfortable clothing you can move in. If you have jazz or character shoes, please wear them.
On the morning of the third day, a call-back list will be posted on the Drama room door as well as at the Auditorium. Those students will return to the Drama room at 3:05pm and will sing musical selections as directed by the Production team. Students will be assigned specific scenes which will be performed. Please note: If you are not on the call-back list, it does NOT mean you aren't being considered for the show.
PLEASE REVIEW THESE GENERAL AUDITION GUIDELINES TO HELP YOU PREPARE.
